My biokinetics journey started with my passion for sports. I have always been fascinated by the abilities of the human body, and the interaction our brains have with our movement. This fascination naturally led me to specializing in neurological conditions. As a provincial netball player, I have carried my Biokinetics knowledge and developed an interest in orthopedic rehabilitation, sport injuries management, strength and conditioning. Passion and excellence are my guiding principles in all that I do. I am a strong believer in the saying “do what you love and love what you do” and I love to carry that through in everything that I do; especially my work. I am privileged to be working at Adjustability as part of such a dynamic team. I really enjoy learning new aspects of my field and I look forward to growing with the team and adding value in whatever small way I can. “In a gentle way, you can shake the world”

“The best exercise is to reach down and help others.” It is this passion, together with my love for sport and the health field that drove me to pursue Biokinetics. It was while job shadowing as a student that a spark for neurological rehabilitation developed and has led me to this point. I have a keen interest in the physical rehabilitation of neurological and chronic conditions and won’t shy away from orthopedic rehab. I thoroughly enjoy working with people and realizing that I can make a difference in their lives. While not at work, I also enjoy the fishing, golf and spending time with family. Adjustability has given me the chance to explore my passion in an amazing environment and I intend on bettering myself for every patient that I get the opportunity to help

“Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your heart on fire”. – Jennifer Lee I hold this quote very near to my heart and have subsequently never flinched in pursuing the things that set my heart on fire. Almost two years ago I walked into Adjustability, unsure of what career would ignite the fire in me and after just a few hours spent in the presence of the patients and Biokineticists, I went home with a renewed sense of purpose and zest for life. My passion for my work and for people overflows into how I rehabilitate and work with patients. I believe in having fun, working hard and listening in all aspects of life and I hope that this carries through into my work. I have developed a special love for neurological and chronic rehabilitation as well as working with the elderly.

An interest in biokinetics crept in during my early days of rehabilitation after enduring several sporting injuries. My love grew for it through seeing the effects that physical activity and exercise had on the healing body. As well as how these effects of a healing body, motivated and uplifted a once beat down spirit. As an intern, I have a keen interest in learning about the various neurological, chronic and orthopedic injuries, the manner in which they arise as well as the various methods to tackle them through physical movement. Due to the effects of the Covid pandemic, I have a growing interest in corporate wellness and the effect it does have on one's wellbeing. It is a true privilege to be interning at Adjustability. With a vibrant team who always pushes you to be better and to constantly think out of the box, I am eager to not only grow as a biokineticist but as a person too.

From a young age I have always enjoyed being active which is where my love for sport and physical activity began. The human body has always fascinated me because of its complexity as well as the uniqueness of each person. I got introduced to biokinetics through injuries and that's where my love for the profession started. Job shadowing at Adjustability introduced me to a new sphere of neurological rehabilitation and I'm honoured to be part of the team as an intern.
